For Éric and Véronique, the environment is important and precious. They are daily engage in eco-responsible approach, such as sorting waste, recycling, collective or individual actions, favoring the durable disposable.
For them it was important and natural to include their commitments at the beginning of the accomodation conception that respects the environment. Several choices were so obvious, the first was the rehabilitation of an old Savoy farm rather than a new construction. For this accommodation they decided to change the old oil heating system to green energy, more respectful of the environment.
A heat pump powers the underfloor heating system, supplemented by a traditional wood stove purring in the heart of this rural and authentic cottage.
For the construction of Chapô Julô, noble and natural materials such as stone and wood were used. Also, the application of solvent-free paints and ecological products has been widely favored. The choice of local artisans was obvious.
For Eric and Véronique, the well-being of people is very important. Therefore, preserve the magnificent site of Lake Annecy , its surroundings and its craftsmen too.
A responsible lodging
As a rural cottage engaged in approaches that respect the environment and people, Chapô Julô, chooses to develop ecological actions in housing.
Green spaces are preserved, assisted by rainwater recovery system, for watering the vegetation. The Chapô Julô, provides selective sorting bins accessible to all, to encourage and encourage vacationers and groups to get involved if they wish (glass, plastic, paper and caps). A composter is installed in the park to sort out organic waste from meal preparation. This is to lighten the volume of household garbage cans and create fertilizer for green spaces.
The cleaning products of Chapô Julô are biodegradable. Between each rental stay Véronique and Pauline use natural products and remedies such as vinegar, bicarbonate, steam or others, to clean the cottage. All our environmental approaches are in harmony with the surroundings of Lake Annecy. The agglomeration of Annecy has been working to preserve its natural site since 1957, making Lake Annecy the purest lake in Europe.
A few minutes from this rural holiday house, you will find the Doussard nature reserve, it has created an ecologically rich environment which allows Lake Annecy to have a protected space to naturally filter its water. This site, which can be visited by everyone, is also accessible for people with reduced mobility.
Chapô Julô is committed today and tomorrow in all these ecological approaches because we believe that small streams make big rivers.
